Lord Faulkner of Worcester


Richard Faulkner has been an active member of the House of Lords since 1999, during which time he has spoken frequently on football-related issues in the House.

He is currently a member of the Home Office's working group on football disorder, and is a vice-chair of the all-party parliamentary football group. He was vice-chair of the Government's Football Task Force, and was previously First Deputy Chairman of the Football Trust, having served successively as a trustee and secretary.

He was a member of the Football League's Inquiry into Membership Schemes in the 1980s, and played a major part in the programme of rebuilding football stadia in the aftermath of the Hillsborough disaster.

He is a non-executive public interest director of the Cardiff Millennium Stadium company, and served in a similar role at the request of the Football Association on the board of Brighton and Hove Albion FC following the club's reconstruction in the 1990s.
