Feb 29 December 2003 - Football and it's Finances report to be published in February 2004 Following the last oral evidence session , panel members have been meeting privately this month to discuss the findings of the oral and written submissions. The private sessions will continue throughout early January to conclude the report into football and its finances. The report will be published during February 2004. 15 October 2003 - Three former Ministers plan to give evidence at inquiry session 6 David Mellor, Tony Banks and Kate Hoey will present evidence on Monday 20th October. This session follows evidence session 5 which includes the PFA, IFC and the League Managers Association. David Sheepshanks, Chairman, Ipswich Town FC will also give evidence tomorrow(Thurs 16 Oct). Oral Session 5 note Panel 5 Panel 6 30 June 2003 - Third oral session begins with a minute of silence for Foe The third oral session of the inquiry began with recognition for the late Cameroon international and Premiership player, Marc Vivien Foe, who sadly died last week during the Confederation Cup in France. Session members - Alan Keen MP, Christine Russell MP, Clive Betts MP, Lord Carter, Lord Faulkner, Lord Taylor and Adrian Bailey MP together with witnesses observed a minutes silence of remembrance. 26 June 2003 - Oral session 2 sees fan groups on the spot more 12 June 2003 - Journalists and academics to give evidence to All Party Football Group Inquiry The All Party Parliamentary Football Group today announced details of the witnesses who will give evidence to its first Inquiry session into football and its finances. David Conn will be among those appearing during the session. The first Oral session will take place in the MacMillan Room in Portcullis House, Westminster on Thursday 12 June between 6-8pm.more Pictures 12 April 2003 Football and its Finances launched Alan Keen MP, Chair of the All Party Football Group said: "Football is part of the nation's heritage. The game has made great strides forward as a spectacle in recent years and broadened its supporter base from the old working class traditions. However, despite its increased popularity, there are serious financial problems at the professional end of the game. There is concern that the grass roots could be affected as well as the long term future of the professional game itself if the wrong decisions are made. We hope that the All Party Parliamentary Football Group's report may assist to gather together the joint wisdom of all those involved in the game at all levels" The Rt. Hon. Richard Caborn MP, Minister of Sport said: "As Minister for Sport, and on behalf of the Department for Culture, Media & Sport, I welcome the All Party Football Group's Inquiry into Football and its Finances, and look forward to the Group's findings in the Autumn."
